Fed: Hicks interview will be kept secret - govt

A spokesman for Attorney-General DARYL WILLIAMS says Australian authorities won't release
any detail of interviews with an Adelaide man man caught fighting with al-Qaeda in Afghanistan.

DAVID HICKS still hasn't been interviewed by Australian authorities, despite expectations
by Foreign Minister ALEXANDER DOWNER that interviews would begin as soon as yesterday.

Mr HICKS was captured by Northern Alliance troops two weeks ago and has been transferred
to a US war ship with at least four other prisoners.

They include American JOHN WALKER who was found fighting with the Taliban.

Mr HICKS is expected to be interviewed aboard the ship by an ASIO and Australian Federal
Police team.
