SA:Adelaide man dies from stab wounds

ADELAIDE, Aug 17 AAP - A 50-year-old Adelaide man has died in hospital after being
stabbed in the chest during a violent home invasion last week.

Police said the man was set upon by three men when he answered a knock at the door
of his Elizabeth Downs home on Thursday.

"During a struggle the resident was stabbed in the chest and stomach by one of the
offenders," a police spokesman said.

The injured man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries but
the spokesman said on Wednesday he had now died.

Police searched the Elizabeth Downs area for the man's attackers without success.

They said the case was now considered a murder investigation.
