SA: Fog delays flights in Adelaide
ADELAIDE, Aug 13 AAP - Fog caused delays at Adelaide Airport this morning, stopping
both international and domestic flights landing.
Adelaide Airport corporate affairs manager John McArdle said planes that were based
in Adelaide overnight managed to takeoff.
But he said inbound aircraft could not land because the fog was too thick.
"At this point in time we've had two international flights divert to Melbourne and
we've had nine domestic flights delayed," he told ABC Radio.
"They're holding in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, waiting to see if the fogs lift or not."
Mr McArdle said the result was considerable delays for passengers which would flow
through to the rest of the morning and into the afternoon.
He said travellers were advised to contact their carriers for updated flight information.
